nextnano++ software can run on nextnanomat, which is a GUI (graphical user interface) for editing input files (ASCII, XML), organizing simulations and submitting jobs (directly or via a batch list), as well as visualizing simulation results. Parallel job execution is supported on multi-core CPUs automatically.
nextnanomat is customized to work with the following software:
nextnano³
nextnano++
nextnano.MSB
nextnano.QCL
However, it is general enough to be adjusted to any TCAD or scientific software that reads in an ASCII file, passes this ASCII file to an executable, and visualizes its 1D, 2D and 3D results.
nextnanomat can be used as a visualization software for 1D, 2D and 3D results (e.g. somewhat "similar" (but much simpler) than Origin, gnuplot, Compaq Array Viewer, Intel Array Viewer).
The focus lies on quick visualization rather than on professional editing of graphs.
nextnano++ features:
includes group IV materials (Si, Ge, SiGe) and all III-V materials, its ternaries and quaternaries;
the nitrides are available in the zinc blende and wurtzite crystal structure
flexible structures and geometries (1D, 2D and 3D)
fully quantum mechanical electronic structure, based on the 8-band k.p model
strain, piezo and pyroelectric charges
growth directions along [001], [011], [111], [211], ... in short along any crystallographic direction
equilibrium and nonequilibrium, calculation of current close to equilibrium (semi-classical)
magnetic fields
various input file examples and material database
